Choosing the best quartz countertop brand in India: what sets Pacific apart

Choosing the best quartz countertop brand in India: what sets Pacific apart

Two quartz samples can look almost identical in a showroom and behave very differently ten years later on a kitchen platform. The difference comes from how the quartz slab was made, what is in it and who stands behind it. So before you pick a colour for your quartz kitchen countertops, it is worth choosing the brand.

This guide sets out what to check when you compare quartz countertop manufacturers, and how Pacific answers each point.

Quartz slab manufacturers in India: who makes your slab

Some quartz brands buy slabs from other factories and sell them under their own name. That can make it harder to know how the slab was made or to get answers if something goes wrong.

Pacific makes its own. We started in 2000 as Pacific Granites, began quartz production in 2018 and opened our Bretonstone plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, in 2023. Breton is the Italian company that developed the engineered stone process, and its lines press our slabs under vacuum. The facility covers 470,000 sq ft and produces 12 million sq ft of quartz a year.

Among quartz slab manufacturers in India, that means you are buying from the people who press the slab, not a middleman.

What is inside a quartz stone slab

A Pacific slab is about 93% natural quartz stone, one of the hardest minerals in nature, bound with a small amount of resin and pigment. Pressing out the air leaves a surface with no pores. In practice, that means three things for quartz kitchen countertops: Pacific quartz does not stain, it resists scratches, and it never needs sealing.

When you compare brands, ask what percentage of the slab is quartz and how it is pressed. A lower quartz content or a less dense press can mean a softer, more porous surface.

Is a quartz countertop safe? Certifications to check

Any brand can say its quartz is safe. Certifications are how you check. Pacific quartz carries NSF/ANSI 51 certification for food contact, so you can knead dough or roll rotis directly on the counter. It also holds Greenguard Gold for low chemical emissions indoors, CE marking for the European market and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management.

For your kitchen, these certificates are the answer to whether quartz engineered stone countertops are safe. Ask any brand you are considering to show you theirs.

Low silica quartz for safer fabrication

Crystalline silica dust is a serious health risk for fabricators who cut and polish engineered stone. Pacific's Ecosurfaces are a low silica quartz range, made with premium and recycled minerals, and SGS has certified the range at 0% crystalline silica. If you care how your counter is made, ask any brand whether it offers a certified low-silica range.

Quartz slab sizes, up to super jumbo

The size of the slab decides how many joints run across a long kitchen platform or island. A super jumbo quartz slab from Pacific measures up to 3,480 × 2,007 mm, among the largest engineered stone formats made in India, and our quartz slabscome in 12, 20 and 30 mm depending on the design. Our guide to jumbo quartz slabs explains why that matters.

Quartz countertop designs: white quartz, marble quartz and more

Pacific makes quartz countertops in white quartz, marble quartz, warm and dark tones, across collections including Nebula, Kosmic and the marble-look Eclipse. Most designs come in polished, matte, suede and velvet finishes.

Beyond flat slabs, we offer bullnose, ogee, bevel and mitred edge profiles, fluted quartz for walls and island fronts, and Integra quartz sinks made from the same material as the counter. We also offer more than 100 natural granite designs, so you can compare quartz and granite with one supplier.

The same slabs work well beyond the kitchen. A matching quartz bathroom vanity top, quartz wall cladding behind a bed or television, or quartz window sills let you carry one design through the home.

Quartz vs granite: one supplier for both

Because we make quartz and supply natural granite, we can be fair about the choice. Granite kitchen countertops handle direct heat better and every slab is one of a kind. Quartz doesn't stain, never needs sealing and gives a consistent pattern across a long platform. Our guide to quartz vs granite for your kitchen compares the two in full.

Quartz price and what affects it

Quartz price depends on the design, the thickness, the slab size and the fabrication: edges, sink and hob cut-outs and installation. When you compare quartz slab price per sq ft between brands, ask what is included, how many slabs your layout needs and whether the quote covers fabrication. A slightly higher per-sq-ft figure on a larger slab can still mean a lower total if it saves joints and offcuts. For a figure on your project, send us your layout.

Warranty, care and support

A countertop is a long-term purchase, so the warranty matters as much as the slab. Pacific quartz carries a lifetime warranty. Read the terms for any brand you compare, and ask what is covered, who handles a claim and how long it takes.

Care is simple. The best quartz countertop maintenance tips come down to a few drops of neutral soap on a damp microfiber cloth, a trivet under hot pans and no steel wool or bleach. Our care guide covers the rest.

Support before you buy counts too. Our Visualizer lets you upload a photo of your kitchen and try any design on the counter. You can find a dealer near you to see full slabs, or request samples to test at home.

A track record beyond India

Pacific exports to more than 45 countries and runs a European warehouse in Poland, opened in 2024. Selling into export markets means meeting their standards and buyers' expectations, slab after slab. Architects and quartz slab suppliers abroad hold us to that, and the same slabs go into Indian homes.

Questions to ask any quartz company before you buy

Whichever brand you choose, these questions will tell you a lot:

  • Do you make the slabs yourselves, and where?
  • What percentage of the slab is quartz?
  • Which certifications do you hold, and can I see them?
  • Do you offer a low-silica range for fabricators?
  • What slab sizes and thicknesses do you make?
  • What does the warranty cover, and for how long?
  • Can I see the full slab before it is cut?

We are happy to answer every one of them. For more on choosing the counter itself, read our guide to quartz countertops for Indian kitchens.
